Aretha Franklin - Keep On Lovin’ You (album “Almighty Fire”)

This is a beautiful song by the one and only Queen of soul, Aretha Franklin.

This song has been produced by the mighty Producer, writer and singer, Curtis Mayfield. Curtis Mayfield previously produced the album “Sparkle” in 1976, this album had a nr.1 hit for aretha franklin, the song called “Something He Can Feel”. Back To “keep on lovin’ you”, this song was released on the album “Almighty Fire”. This album is labeled as the poorest recording ever made by the queen of soul. However, I completely dissagree with this statement which has been made about the album. In my opinion it’s one of the greatest albums she has ever recorded and I mean vocally, as the whole album itself. The album contains the most difficult key notes, which she hits with her voice in such an elegant and effortless way and even until today no one manages to do. And not to forget how underrated the album was, the album deserves a much higher place in the charts, as in the history of music. One of the reasons why this album was so underrated was the peak of the disco music which was going on at that time, the soul artists had a rough time during this period of non-soul music. Most of the artists saw their end as an artist, others like Aretha Franklin never stopped singing and recording albums until they started to dominate the music charts all over again.
